SDP Approved Courses for Associate Certification

As part of our mission to promote high-quality decision-making and recognize foundational skills in structured decision processes, the Society of Decision Professionals (SDP) offers an Automatic Associate Certification to individuals who complete approved courses that meet our standards of excellence.

These courses have been reviewed and endorsed by the SDP Certification Council because they fulfill the training requirement for Associate-level certification.

Those who take an Approved Course will automatically receive their Associate level Certification at the completion of the course and an introductory one year SDP membership with all its benefits.

This course focuses on how to unwind complex situations to gain clarity, model uncertainty, and enable confident decision making. Students will learn how to frame the problem correctly, ensure clarity around the objectives, develop creative alternative strategies, and qualitatively or quantitatively evaluate those alternatives. Several tools for accomplishing these goals will be introduced. Topics will include decision trees, common psychological biases and traps, scenario analysis, game theory, modeling techniques, and subject-matter-expert interviews. Students will learn to analyze and present model outputs and how to avoid common pitfalls.
