Does your organization (or group) have a 'base' objectives hierarchy that you adapt as a starting point for defining objectives for a specific decision context (either individual or class of decisions)? I've developed an objectives hierarchy for a large transformation program, which I'm starting to use to promote use of common language for objectives across decisions. I'm interested in hearing about your experience trying similar approaches.

    Hey Andrew,

We don't at TransLink, but I've thought it would be really useful to try to develop one (though I'm new enough here to be wrong - Lyle?).  I thought BC Hydro's keynote presentation at the conference suggested they have something like this. If so, I'd be curious to hear more about how they developed it and apply it with decisions of different scopes and scales.

This could be a good topic for one of the monthly meetings. May be a couple of people could share what they use or their ideas on what they are thinking of using. For BC Hydro, I think Basil Stumborg would be best placed for this as he works as a decision analysis expert in our Business Planning, Risk & Performance team.
