LESLIE LIPPARD
Brief
Biography
Leslie Lippard leads Portfolio Analytics at Alnylam Pharmaceuticals, where she is building a DA group to help drug development teams make better decisions. In this role, she gets to combine three of her passions: building teams, DA, and bringing better therapies to patients.
Prior to joining Alnylam, Leslie was an Associate Director with Genentech's Research and Early Development Portfolio and Pipeline Planning Group. At Genentech, she had split her time between working on product development strategy and organizational change. Prior to joining Genentech, she was an entrepreneur (Codornices Consulting, SageSpring Partners), a market researcher (AlphaDetail, now Quintiles), a strategy consultant (SDG) and an Engineer (Xerox, Spectra Physics). She has a BS in Physics from Caltech and an MBA from the University of Oregon. She has a deep commitment to community service, and currently serves on the board of 2 other community organizations: The HBA (Healthcare Businesswomen's Association) and PAWMA (the Pacific Association of Women Martial Artists). When she is not in the office or on the phone, she can be found running, teaching kid's judo or keeping bees on her roof. |

EYAS RADDAD

Biography
Sr Research Advisor, Decision Science and Portfolio Strategy, Lilly Research Laboratories
Eyas is a seasoned drug discovery and development researcher, strategist and innovator. Since he joined Eli Lilly and Company in 2001, he applied sophisticated data analytics and strategic frameworks to improve decision making in drug discovery and development process, and led a group of scientist in his technical area of PK/PD. He later moved to Chorus, the industry-renowned innovative early development engine, where he established the PK/PD function, and helped advance tens of novel drugs to a decisive proof-of-concept stage, setting a record that is the envy of the industry. He continues to pursue efforts that help increase the productivity of the drug discovery and development innovation cycle. Over his career, he implemented Decision Analytic techniques in drug development applications. In 2017, Eyas established and led Research Decision Analytics function in Lilly Research Laboratories, with a mission that includes portfolio management, decision consulting and decision education.
A native of Jordan, Eyas holds a BS in Pharmacy (University of Jordan; 1997), and a PhD in Pharmaceutics (University of Georgia; 2001). Eyas also completed an MBA from MIT-Sloan School of Management in 2013. |

Biography
Jennifer Harrington
Sr Decision Specialist,
Intel Corporation
Jennifer is currently part of Intel’s Center
for Decision Leadership, a team of decision professionals who assist executives
from across Intel in addressing their most significant strategic challenges. In
addition to leading internal consulting engagements spanning many of Intel’s
business organizations, Jennifer also instructs and coaches employees on
building capabilities in decision-making and decision analysis. She joined
Intel in 2009 and held a variety of finance roles and experience previously.
Jennifer is currently an active board member for the Society for Decision
Professionals and a recurring volunteer teacher with Junior Achievement.
Jennifer holds a certificate from Stanford’s
Strategic Decision Risk Management Program as well as an MBA in Finance and
Corporate Accounting from Michigan State University and a BA in Economics from
the University of Michigan. She currently resides in Oregon with her husband,
three young children, and Newman the Jack Russell Terrier. |

ASHLEE BURKE

Biography
Ashlee Burke
Controller, Intel Corporation
Since joining Intel in 2011, Ashlee has held several finance roles across the company. Her experience,
prior to joining Intel's Center for Decision Leadership, includes budgets and planning, financial
strategy and program development, PnL management and product line analysis. In her current role as a
decision professional, Ashlee blends her analytical experience with her passion for helping people make
better decisions at work and in their personal lives. She is part of a team of decision professionals
who assist leaders across Intel in addressing their most significant strategic challenges. Ashlee trains
and coaches Intel employees on concepts, tools and methodologies to improve the system of decision
making.
Outside of work, Ashlee is an active board member for the Society for Decision Professionals and a
recurring volunteer teacher with Junior Achievement. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business
Administration from the University of Montana, an MBA from Willamette University, and a certificate in
Strategic Decision & Risk Management from Stanford University. She lives in Oregon with her husband,
their two young children and their giant golden doodle. |

JIM DRISCOLL

Biography
Director, Intel Center for Decision Leadership
Jim Driscoll directs the Center for Decision Leadership (CDL), a group he founded at Intel Corporation
in 2012. Jim and the talented professionals currently serving as part of CDL collaborate with leaders at
all levels to improve how decisions get made inside the company. He has personally instructed more than
2000 Intel employees in how to tackle their most complex and strategic challenges using a mix of
decision quality, decision analysis, data science and group facilitation techniques. Jim has held a
variety of leadership positions at Intel since joining the iconic Silicon Valley company in 1999.
Jim was elected to the SDP’s Board of Directors in 2016 and was subsequently elevated by its members to
the position of VP/President-elect the following year. Since completing his terms as Vice President and
SDP President in 2019, Jim has remained active as a board observer in the role of Past President. He has
twice served on the Panel of Examiners for the SDP’s Raiffa-Howard Award. Jim has also been an invited
speaker on decision quality, decision leadership and decision-driven data science at Fortune 100 |

MATT GORMAN

Biography
Matthew (Matt) Gorman is a career management consultant with 25 years of experience serving clients in the Pharmaceuticals, Biotech, Food, Chemical and Agricultural industries. Over the course of his career, Matt has been involved in a range of operational capacities from database design and testing, ERP systems implementation, production and materials management, technology and process training, and regulatory compliance assurance and auditing. Matt began his work in the Decision Sciences with Kromite in 2009. At Kromite, Matt applied his knowledge of business processes to the discipline of Decision Sciences. From 2014 to 2018, Matt oversaw the communication and execution of many decision modeling projects in the agricultural sector.

TROY HELM
Brief Biography
Troy Helm is a senior consultant at Strategic Decisions Group with experience in business strategy,
pharmaceutical R&D strategy, private equity investment analysis, agricultural products, and new market
entry in a variety of industries. Prior to joining SDG, Troy held management roles in several technology
companies, most recently taking a translation and language services company from startup to buyout. He has
a BA in international relations and an MS in management science and engineering from Stanford University.
He is currently on the SDP board as Treasurer. |

DAN HUDSON
Brief
Biography
Dan Hudson is the Chief
Operating Officer and Chief Analytics Officer for ReefPoint Group, a management
consulting firm that applies decision science to enhance healthcare processes
and outcomes within the Federal sector. Dan previously served for ten years as
a Reliability Engineer and Risk Analyst for the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory
Commission (USNRC), where he performed risk analyses to identify and prioritize potential risk
management strategies and enhanced the agency’s use of quantitative and
qualitative analyses to inform regulatory and policy decisions. Dan also worked
as a part-time Senior Decision Scientist for Innovative Decisions, Inc. (IDI),
where he applied and evaluated machine learning techniques to enhance insider
threat detection. Dan served for
more than ten years on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces, first as an
enlisted Marine, and then as a Navy Diver and Submarine Warfare Officer. Dan is
a Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) and is Certified in Public Health
(CPH). Dan earned a B.S. degree with summa
cum laude honors in Aerospace Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy, an
M.S. degree in Reliability Engineering from the University of Maryland, and a
Ph.D. degree in Health Policy and Management from the Johns Hopkins University. |

CANDICE JUNGE
Brief
Biography
Candice received her PhD in molecular and systems pharmacology with a focus
in neuroscience from Emory University and BS in chemical engineering from University of Missouri in
Columbia. Candice started her career in industry as a research scientist at Agensys/Astellas developing
novel oncology therapeutics. She moved into clinical development at Baxter BioScience where she worked with
the cellular therapy team on program strategy, study design and development options for cardiovascular and
vascular disease indications. She then moved to Cline, Davis and Mann to work with large pharma and biotech
clients to develop their marketing and brand strategies for marketed products as well as products in
late-stage development. From there she went on to join Caladrius Biosciences where she was Associate Vice
President of clinical strategy and commercial assessment for development programs in oncology,
cardiovascular, vascular and autoimmune indications. Candice joined Amgen's Center for Design and Analysis
in January 2016 as a Strategic Clinical Development Director. In this role, she acts as a strategic partner
for development teams and works with them to develop a decision framework, which enables decision quality
and the creation of innovative clinical development options. |

JOE MELVIN
Brief Biography
Joe Melvin
Joe has been part of the decision analytics community since he joined SDG in 1997 as a summer intern
while an MBA candidate at Stanford. He returned to SDG after graduating and spent six years consulting
to primarily life sciences clients on asset strategy and portfolio management engagements. Joe left SDG
in 2004 to become Director of Strategy and Portfolio Management at Chirob, where he implemented a
customized Dialog-Decision Process for the $600 million/year BioPharmaceuticals business.
Joe then joined several former Chiron colleagues at biotech startup APT Pharmaceuticals where, as head
of finance, he helped to raise and close a $32 million Series C funding round in 2008. In 2012, Joe was
named CFO and Treasurer of medical device startup PhotoThera, Inc.
In 2014, Joe returned to his portfolio management roots by joining Genentech’s Pipeline and Portfolio
Planning group. After 5 years with Genentech, he left the company last year and has returned to SDG
where he is currently a part-time Principal Consultant in the Life Science practice.
In addition to an MBA from Stanford, Joe holds a B. Sc. In Mechanical Engineering from MIT. He lives
in San Francisco with his husband Kevin and their cat Kitty.

BRIAN PUTT
Brief Biography
Brian worked 41 years with Chevron performing project analysis in the petroleum industry, mostly
upstream. He holds a BA in Economics from CMC, and a BS in General Engineering and MS in
Operations Research from Stanford.
Brian was responsible for improving Decision Analysis organizational capability throughout Chevron
Corporation that included developing decision analysis evaluation techniques, training programs at all
levels, and development of Corporation Analysis guidelines. In addition, he managed a team of
internal DA consultants that supported the various Chevron Upstream operating companies worldwide.
After retirement he has volunteered with SDP, Probability Management and Decision Education Foundation
to promote Decision Quality. Brian is active in the Scouting program and has conducted DQ training
at the University of Scouting. Brian also conducts training in SIPmath for Probability
Management. Brian maintains a YouTube Channel on DQ, Excel and SIPmath applications. |

ANDREW THRIFT
Brief
Biography
Andrew provides planning and decision support for projects and operations in his role as Manager, Business and Resource Planning, Base Metals with Teck Resources, a diversified mining company based in Vancouver. In his current role he leads a decision quality initiative focused on enhancing value and integration of sustainability considerations into decision making. He has worked in the area of sustainability, environment and community affairs for senior and junior mining companies, a federal government agency and consulting companies. Andrew holds Bachelors and Master degrees in Mining Engineering from the University of British Columbia and is a Professional Engineer registered with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia. He has served as board member and chair for a social enterprise non-profit and his church. Andrew has served on the program committee for the last two DAAG conferences, and is an active member of the Chapter & Outreach Council. He is also a member of the leadership team developing a local SDP chapter in Vancouver. |

JEREMY WALKER
Brief
Biography
Jeremy Walker has been with Decision Frameworks since 2005. He is the Vice
President of Business Development, and a Consultant, with a background in business strategy development,
petroleum economics, portfolio management systems, and asset acquisition and divestitures. Prior to
joining Decision Frameworks, Mr. Walker was the General Manager of IndigoPool, a Schlumberger company that
specializes in integrated acquisition and divestiture solutions and targeted transaction support services
to companies and countries engaged in acquisitions, licensing rounds, and divestitures in the petroleum
sector. His previous assignments were heading up Schlumberger’s sales and marketing efforts for the Value
Risk products in Europe, Africa and the CIS based out of London. and ten years of numerous sales,
marketing, and management roles as a partner in Merak Projects, a petroleum software company. Mr. Walker
is a 1986 graduate of the University of Toronto, with a bachelor's degree in International Relations and
Economics.
