Abstract

This presentation makes the case that game theory should be seen as an extension of traditional Decision Analysis. A game theory approach enables framing and evaluation not only our own decisions and the value of our alternative strategies, but those of competitors, partners, and other external stakeholders. This presentation and case study will demonstrate an example of the application of game theory at Chevron that led to the successful unitization of assets between Chevron’s partners and an adjacent competitor and resulted in a win-win for all parties.
