This SDP Calgary Chapter event will be both in-person and virtual! All who are interested are welcome. Please join us for the main presentation either in person at the University District Servus Credit Union community room or on-line. For those who can join in person, after the main presentation we will plan to head across the street to the Canadian Brewhouse to continue the conversation over drinks and food.
Abstract:
Decision intelligence is undergoing a profound transformation. Capabilities once limited to governments, intelligence agencies, and major institutions — forecasting, simulation, systems modeling, and strategic coordination — are now becoming increasingly democratized through AI, prediction markets, swarm intelligence, and simulation technologies.
In this presentation, Joy Case, creator of AlphaOS.live and CivOS.live, explores the thesis behind The Civilization Engine and the concept of “Rehearsing the Future” — the idea that in an increasingly complex world, better outcomes depend on our ability to simulate, sandbox, swarm, and coordinate before acting.
Drawing from emerging developments in AI and prediction markets, the session examines how advanced decision systems can help individuals and organizations surface signals before they become obvious, model second- and third-order effects, explore macro and micro scenarios, and improve strategic decision-making under uncertainty.
Topics include AI as a strategic reasoning and coordination layer, civilization-scale simulation environments, collective intelligence systems, and the evolving future of human decision-making. As intelligence becomes increasingly abundant, the critical advantage shifts toward interpretation, coordination, foresight, and the ability to rehearse possible futures before they arrive.

Joy A. Case, M.Ed. is a strategic AI and emerging technology executive, educator, and founder focused on decision intelligence, organizational transformation, and responsible AI adoption.
